I LOVE talking about shoes, socks, hydration products, garmins, sunglasses, gels, salt tabs... I LOVE running gadgets.. could go on and on about it. before I run, the little things I do and products I use... it's almost like a ritual... especially pre-race. Am I the only one who is like this??
okay this could get long:
I love skirtsports skirts.. I wear them and race ready shorts mostly.
patagonia makes the best sports bras( in my opinion)
mtn hardwear makes my favorite dri-fit shirts and tanks..
I wear mostly smartwool running socks in the winter, wright socks in the summer.
I am a lover of BUFFs, and I wear alot of running hats... and oakley sunglasses.. they are light and won't fly off my face..( great to bike in too)
petzel tika head lamp
go lite for wind shirts, and rain gear..
I wear an ipod nano alot when I run, but at a low level ( don't want a no headphone debate here-- I see both sides and have been stepped on by people with their music crankin -- not paying attention-- I just think whatever gets you there across the finish line-- but do it safely and within reason) but I have been using the NIKE + system with the ipod.. and that has been fun to play with but I don't wear nike's, I just place the microchip in my shoewallet and it works fine. wouldn't use that in a race though... and I think the garmin is a little more accurate
I use blister shield both the powder for my socks and the roll-on-- THIS STUFF RAWKS.
Garmin forerunner 305 for my watch... and a good ole timex ironman when I don't feel like wearing the garmin
THE STICK for post run massage!
I use crank sports E-gel and E-fuel... but then on training runs I kinda eat everything: powerbars, power gel, sport beans, hammer gel etc.. but I really am partial to e-gel
I use salt stick salt tabs
burt's bees lip balm!
oh and shoes! I run in asics kinsei 2's ( love them) nimbus 9's
and montrail hurricane ridge for trail shoes. ( they are heavy but I really like them too)
really like ultimate direction and nathan products for hydration.. I use the hand held bottles alot.. ( kinda over the fuel belt) rubs me the wrong way sometimes:o) even with the lube.. I just find it easier and less awkward to hold the bottle in my hand and can drink with out slowing down as much as I would when I would fumble with the fuel belt.. and those always have a zippered pocket to store a gel or two.. so it works out well.
okay anyone want to SHARE what is in their running bag? what running crap they love to use???
how else can anyone learn if we dont discuss important stuff like this?!
the funny thing is none of this makes you run any faster
but it's still fun to play around with it all
